Jamaican Connections

Teaching with Jamaica takes one day of the trip to go into the Montego Bay area and make connections with the schools and orphanages. Each year we rotate the places we visit.

West Haven Children's Home West Haven is a home for children and adults with special needs. West Haven is located about 30 minutes outside of Montego Bay. TWJ loves to visit the children, adults and staff at this home. Over the years our team has
  • Played with children
  • Folded clothes/helped with laundry
  • Helped to feed the children at meal time
  • Sing songs and dance with the children
  • Invited the teachers to our conference
Peace and Justice Center The Peace and Justice Center runs programs for the children in their community. Our team has provided books and school supplies to help them with their Homework Program. Local Schools   TWJ has visited several schools around the Montego Bay Area. We try to visit schools who have sent teachers to attend our conference. This allows the team to interact with the children and get a better idea of why we do what we do.
